Motohiro Nakashima has come of age since his debut, ‘And I Went to Sleep’. This time around using a variety of acoustic instruments, voice, field recordings and electronic sounds to create a lush sound world of delicate textures and intense peaks. If you wish for a place to shelter in these increasingly turbulent times this might be the place.
“When I was a kid I used to like go up the roof of my parents’ house late at night and look at stars. Those nights were usually spent with my walkman playing cassettes. I spent a lot of hours doing that and got to hear some great records. For me, ‘I Dreamt Constellations Sang’ recreates that feeling.” MH
